Accounting Techniques


Brief history

On (2013/2014), the Department of Financial and Accounting Technologies was established as a first department with Administrative Information Technology as a basis for establishing our College of Technical Administrative in Dohuk, and out of the interest of the management of our Technical University, the management of the college and the management of the department to keep pace with scientific developments and achieve the scientific benefit of our dear students and strengthen the academic accreditation of the scientific departments. In our university, so that our departments would be technical, with the help of God Almighty and with the efforts of everyone at the university and college, it was decided to change the department to (Department of Accounting Techniques) and the first batch of graduating middle school students for the scientific stream for the academic year 2019/2020 was received.

Achieving excellence at the scientific and administrative levels by applying quality assurance and academic accreditation standards issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, keeping pace with global accounting developments, and strengthening the department’s relationship with society.

The Mission

Providing technical education opportunities within the accounting specialty for students in the region to be tools for education and future production of accounting affairs in accordance with international standards and with distinguished efficiency in the Kurdistan Region’s governmental and non-governmental organizations.

Objectives:

The department seeks to achieve the following goals:

  1. Improving the academic level of the teaching staff and students.
  2. Pursuing scientific and cognitive development in the field of specialization.
  3. Providing a better teaching climate for students and teachers
  4. Providing appropriate opportunities to meet the department’s need for scientific competencies (higher degrees)
  5. Dynamic balance with the environment, response to the labor market, and community service.

Specifications of graduate students:

Graduate students of the Accounting Technology Department have the following specifications:

  1. Possesses academic and applied knowledge of all basic, primary and advanced accounting activities.
  2. It has the ability to adapt to work with accounting systems, whether in the government or private sector.
  3. Familiarity with the general foundations of some computer programs such as Word, Excel, electronic spreadsheets, SPSS, and Access program.
  4. The student has the ability to use the English language to implement his skills and knowledge in the financial and Egyptian accounting fields.
